New at AAHOACON24: The AAHOACON Collegiate Championship Hotel Turnaround Competition Program
AAHOA is thrilled to host the inaugural AAHOACON Collegiate Championship Hotel Turnaround Competition Program at AAHOACON24!
What is it?
In this one-of-a-kind showdown, 11 elite teams of hospitality students from seven universities will compete in a hotel ownership simulation challenge by making the kind of decisions all hotel owners must make to turn things around when performance is lagging.
- Armed with their wits and fueled by ambition, student contenders will navigate a unique simulation program that enables them to make decisions mirroring real-life challenges faced by all AAHOA Members.
- From capital investments and service offerings to operational efficiencies, marketing strategies, and staffing/training maneuvers, every decision could lead to victory while teaching students invaluable lessons.
Additionally, the finals of this competition will be an AAHOACON24 Showcase Event, offering students invaluable networking opportunities.
Other highlights:
- Russell Partnership Technology will power the competition through its HOTELsim game (used in collegiate and corporate education programs) to deepen financial acumen through competition.
- General Session Recognition: AAHOA will compile footage of student interviews to create a short video for use in Friday morning’s General Session awards announcement. AAHOA will honor all participants and winners in showcasing a new generation of industry leaders and future hotel owners.
- Media Room Opportunities: All award winners will have the opportunity for photo ops and media interviews.
- Full Convention Access and Networking Opportunities: Team members and sponsors will network with industry leaders and participate in HYPE (Helping Young Professionals Evolve) group activities. Also, students may fully participate in AAHOA’s industry-leading trade show, plus all other general education, entertainment, and meal events (included at no charge).
